Earth Hour

I was inspired by Yoke Jong to blog about this.
TADAH, here am I talking about this topic. (:

& kindly pause the music in my site at the top left corner :)

Well, there were numbers of advertisements all around in the medias and even broadcasting widely in the televisions. I was quite surprised to see 8TV advertises frequently and my first thought it's just some typical commercial breaks that they used to attract our attention from moving away from the cushion.

BUT NAH!
After I google-ed it, this event is actually participation of the whole world. *scratch head*

Have been wondering what's this all about?

Well, this is an event that to fuel awareness on climate change and prove that when the people of the world work together, they can make a difference in the fight against global warming. This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming. Mind me adding, this is the first time people of all ages, nationalities, races and backgrounds have the opportunity to play a role in the earth-saving campaign by using their light switch as their vote - switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming.

WWF are urging everyone to VOTE EARTH by switching off your lights and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.

This could make a change to our earth, by having these official government agencies to take action against this phenomenon and the only chance of people of the world to make their voice heard.

Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.

So what are you waiting for? Play your role accordingly!
We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations.

VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour.

Turn off your lights for one hour, 8.30 p.m. Saturday, 28th March 2009.

You can make a difference to it :)

MUST OFF arh!
Even our Malaysia icon are playing their role.

It would be spectacular to see KUALA LUMPUR goes dark ! Teeeheee :)

NOT only our sex symbols are turning their lights off for the Earth, even google is going dark for EARTH HOUR this Saturday :)

YOUR participation will go a long way in spreading the message that we, as individual droplets working collectively – can create an impetus far more powerful than the mightiest of rivers. For more information, log on to the WWF Earth Hour page at here.

A slight reminder :
Off your lights this SATURDAY
8.30 p.m.
28th March 2009
Be punctual and do it for everyone's sake!

P.S : To those losers out there, who contribute nothing to our society, this is the only time for you to make up and OFF YOUR FRIGGING LIGHTS!
